Dear Oscar
26 years ago, while in Annecy,I had the pleasure to attend a lecture you gave about Animation which I found really inspiring.
This 1984 selection was particularly creative and original with such masterpieces as Borge Rings' "Anna and Bella",Fedor Khitruks'"Lion and Ox",Otomos' "Akira" among others.
There was one particular short(whose title I have since forgotten)set in a dentist surgery which fired up a lively debate with guest animators, Marc Davis,John Lasseter,Bob Godfrey,Tom Sito about visual and story telling.
Your last three post remind me of this memorable lecture.
I always feel you have a terrific understanding of graphic design which is why you can play so easily with it.
Thanks again for all those wonderful illustrations you are sharing with us on your blog!

Patrick, Dear Patrick...I am absolutely AMAZED that you remember that talk!...It was fantastic to share the conversation with people of the stature of the animators you named!
You forgot to mention that that year we also saw "Luxo Jr" and "The man who planted trees"...It was a truly special time. Unforgetable for me because I initiated a great friendship with Marc Davis that year!
Keep coming back. I will also visit you periodically. All the best, mate!

A happy looking baby! But thin - I think she needs to start him on solids, maybe give him a banana.
